Design and engineer active cabinet power systems for Clearfield cabinets based on customer and market requirements, including -48vdc rectifiers, AC UPS systems, battery strings, distribution bays, and grounding schemes.
Develop AC power designs from utility service entry through panelboards, ATS, and primary distribution, ensuring code compliance and resiliency.
Manage UL/CE/CSA/NOM compliance for all Active Cabinets.
Create detailed electrical designs for cabinets including one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, load calculations, site layout drawings, and bill of materials (BOM).
Specify and evaluate power equipment (rectifiers, batteries, inverters, breakers, fusing, surge protection, etc.) and components to meet customer requirements and to provide for future product enhancements.
Ensure all designs align with NEC, IEEE, Telcordia (e.g. GR-1089, GR-63, GR-487), and customer requirements.
Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing and Design Engineering teams to integrate power designs into cabinet architecture.
Conduct design reviews with internal stakeholders, customers, and Applications Engineering to ensure manufacturability.
Provide technical guidance and support for Clearfield customer installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
Perform thermal validation of systems.
Maintain design documentation libraries and update as-built drawings.
Contribute to a cooperative, positive team environment.
