Perform engineering design and analysis of substation projects for various clients within Canada and the US in the industrial space under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.
Support mutual success with both the clients and NEI by providing quality deliverables that are on time and within the defined budget.
Implement the NEI Quality Assurance Plan.
Train junior level engineers and designers in areas of physical design of electrical substations & BESS facilities.
Write technical go-bys and training documents. Assist with the creation and enforcement of technical standards across the department.
Consult regularly with the Team Lead on key decisions and activities.
Perform the review of detailed physical engineering for all aspects of electric power substations including multi-disciplinary coordination.
Prepare hand and computer-based calculations and models for physical designs.
Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, and proposals for complex projects.
Manage deliverables and deadlines to ensure they are submitted on time for both internal QA/QC deadlines and external deadlines to client.
Ensure that client requirements, specifications, and expectations are being met.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in Civil or Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
P. E. is Preferred
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
