Managing editorial processes relating to manuscript assessment and the peer-review process
Commissioning, editing, and writing content for journals
Working closely with Chief Editors and journal teams, while reporting to the Head of the Research Cross-Journal Team, on other aspects of journal content and strategy as appropriate

Research experience to PhD level (or equivalent) in any basic biology research with a particular emphasis on but not limited to neuroscience, genetics/genomics, molecular biology, or a closely aligned discipline.
A keen interest in research both within and beyond your specialty.
The ability to absorb and understand new areas of research.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Time management and work prioritization skills.
Previous editorial experience is desirable but not essential.
Additional expertise in related disciplines would be advantageous.
