Lead the development and execution of Prologis' grid-scale energy storage pipeline across the Western United States, advancing projects from origination through disposition.
Support the advancement of Prologis' distributed-scale energy storage efforts across the Western United States by partnering with cross-functional teams to move projects from origination through notice to proceed (NTP).
Oversee project development activities including feasibility studies, site plan development, entitlement and permitting strategies, interconnection processes, development budgets, financial analyses, risk assessments, and investment recommendations to support portfolio growth.
Coordinate closely with Prologis community engagement and permitting leads to build relationships with local stakeholders, government agencies, and regulatory authorities to secure project approvals and support successful project development.
Develop and execute regional market strategies to identify, prioritize, and advance a high-quality pipeline of energy storage projects by assessing power market fundamentals, interconnection opportunities, regulatory frameworks, and project economics.
Build and manage strategic relationships with internal real estate teams in Western markets, project sponsors and investors, utilities, regulators, transmission providers, contractors, AHJs, and other stakeholders to accelerate project development.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of energy storage development professionals while driving accountability and execution across the portfolio.
Collaborate with internal teams including Revenue Contract Origination, Real Estate, Finance, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, and Construction to optimize project value and execution.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Real Estate, Environmental Science, or a related field.
7+ years of experience developing utility-scale energy projects, including battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Experience managing multiple projects through site control, permitting, interconnection, and pre-construction milestones.
Experience with power markets, post-FERC 2023 ISO-level interconnection processes, regulatory frameworks, and energy storage project economics.
Financial and analytical skills, including project valuation, budgeting, and risk assessment.
Transactional or M&A experience with project acquisitions and dispositions, including MIPA negotiation, diligence, closing, and post-closing items.
Communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with experience engaging utilities, regulators, landowners, and local communities.
Experience leading and developing teams.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
