Provide comprehensive litigation support to multiple attorneys, managing heavy and complex caseloads.
Prepare, revise, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence in compliance with applicable court rules.
Prepare court filings for state, federal and appellate courts, including electronic and traditional filings.
Coordinate travel arrangements. Prepare, submit, and track travel and expense reimbursements.
Assist with discovery and trial support, including document production, exhibit preparation, and court filings. Support scanning, photocopying, and binder preparation as needed.
Create and maintain filing systems and databases in compliance with office policies to ensure accurate and efficient data retrieval.
Maintain and monitor litigation calendars, including deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates
Maintain attorney schedules and calendars
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience.
5+ years of prior work experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or related role in litigation.
Prior experience in ERISA defense litigation
Strong knowledge of State and Federal court rules and procedures.
Advanced Word skills, including creating tables, bookmarking, and styling documents.
Strong proofreading and editing abilities, with a focus on accuracy and grammar.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with attorneys and co-workers.
Class Action and trial experience is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, Odyssey, Pacer and ECF Filing Systems.
Previous iManage experience preferred but not required.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
