Role Overview
- Interacts directly with patients in clinic setting
- Completes tasks such as obtaining vital signs, conducting EKGs, completing phlebotomy, and verifying medications
- Prepares for office hours by obtaining charts, scheduling tests, and preparing exam rooms
- Assists with examinations, procedures, and lab tests
- May assist with renewal and authorization of non-narcotic medications
- Directs patient flow and ensures smooth running of clinic
- Completes necessary paperwork and documentation in a timely manner
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or a combination of education and/or experience
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant with three years of related work experience
- Medical Assistant credentials from NHA, AAMA, or AMT
- Ability to show proof of Medical Assistant certification/registration within six months of hire date
- Basic Life Support certification (non-online courses)
