Support the growth of small businesses by making sound credit decisions that balance client needs with responsible risk management.
Analyze new and renewal small business loan requests to determine creditworthiness and appropriate loan structure.
Approve credit decisions within assigned lending authority while ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements.
Partner with Small Business Banking, Retail, Community Markets, and Private Banking teams to deliver timely credit decisions that support business growth.
Review financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and risk ratings to ensure accurate underwriting and portfolio quality.
Identify policy exceptions and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies to support sound lending decisions.
Coach lending partners by providing guidance on credit policy, loan structuring, and underwriting best practices.
Monitor portfolio quality by maintaining accurate risk ratings and supporting ongoing credit administration.
Contribute to process improvements and special projects that enhance the underwriting experience for clients and colleagues.
Requirements
Associate's degree in Finance, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Less than 2 years of experience in small business underwriting/credit analysis.
2+ years of experience in small business underwriting/credit analysis working within a centralized underwriting environment (preferred).
Knowledge of small business lending products, loan structuring, and credit policy.
Experience evaluating financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and credit risk.
Familiarity with federal and state lending regulations.
