Assists technologists and/or nurses with non-technical, patient and procedure-related duties
Performs various tasks associated with department’s daily operations like greeting patients, answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and providing general information
Enters patient information into the computer, scans documents into PACS, and maintains patient records
Provides support in the acquisition and distribution of digital patient records
Confirms patient demographics and insurance information, may calculate and collect copays
Prepares physician schedules, reconciles charge tickets, and forwards completed tickets to billing office
Assists in pre and post procedure room preparation, adheres to radiation safety policies, and escorts patients
Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies
Works in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on customer service
Requirements
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
Certification for BLS is required
Good judgment, effective communication, and discretion with patients, staff, and the general public
Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy
Knowledge of commonly used office software and keyboarding skills
Good organizational skills for prioritizing and coordinating responsibilities simultaneously
Ability to handle ongoing face-to-face contact with patients and staff in a busy medical office environment
