Support the delivery of the Markets Domain’s energy modelling work programme.
Analyse potential futures of energy supply and demand.
Produce analysis to inform policy development and design.
Monitor how policies are tracking.
Help deliver on broader work programme, supporting Senior Data Analysts.
Engage with stakeholders within MBIE, across Government, and in the energy sector.
Ensure analysis is accessible, well communicated, and fit-for-purpose.
Innovate and generate new ideas to enhance core modelling tools and methodologies.
Requirements
A tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience, in statistics, applied economics, econometrics, data science, or another relevant quantitative discipline.
Recent statistics graduates are encouraged to apply.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work with data, identify insights, and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with R (or a comparable statistical programming language) and Power BI, with an interest in modelling, forecasting, econometrics, or related analytical methods.
Some background in economics, energy, or public policy would be an advantage.
