About this role
Role Overview
Independently prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB (German Commercial Code / German GAAP)
Support the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and consolidation processes within the corporate group
Monitor and continuously improve closing and reporting processes with respect to quality and timeliness
Oversee central areas of accounting and ensure smooth operational workflows
Reconcile general ledger and subledger accounts as well as intercompany postings
Serve as a competent interface for external auditors, consultants and internal departments
Organize and accompany annual financial statement audits, tax audits and operational audits
Provide technical support to management on financial and accounting matters
Assist with tax-related issues and the preparation of statutory filings
Identify optimization opportunities within finance processes and drive implementation
Further develop digital workflows, reporting tools and automation solutions
Participate in company-wide projects related to finance, reporting and compliance
Requirements
Degree in finance, accounting or controlling, or comparable qualification (e.g., certified Bilanzbuchhalter / Balance Sheet Accountant (IHK))
Several years of practical experience in accounting, financial bookkeeping or financial statement preparation
Sound knowledge of accounting under HGB and reliable experience with financial statements
Experience with group accounting or consolidation processes is an advantage
Confident presence when dealing with external auditors, tax advisors and internal stakeholders
User experience with ERP systems, ideally in a modern Microsoft environment
Excellent Excel skills and a strong numerical and process-oriented mindset
Enthusiasm for digital transformation, process optimization and modern finance organizations
Structured, independent and goal-oriented working style
Strong communication skills, analytical thinking and a high degree of responsibility
Good English skills for communication with international contacts
