Reporting to the Manager, with direction from the Registered Nurse, responsible for providing high quality, continuous observation and reporting a patient’s electrocardiographic presentation.
Performing duties in a manner that provides for the physical, psycho-social and spiritual needs of the patient.
Incorporating cultural and ethnic factors into patient care activities.
Correctly differentiating and reporting normal and abnormal findings with direction from the RN.
Demonstrating sound judgment in the observation, recording, documenting, and reporting of a patient’s cardiac rhythms.
Assisting the department with basic clerical duties such as answering phones, directing visitors, processing paperwork, responding to patient call lights.
Responding appropriately to concerns regarding patient safety based on the physical environment, equipment, and the patient’s behavior.
Demonstrating the ability to provide assistance in emergency situations and following established emergency procedures and practices.
Requirements
Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications: Minimum six months recent experience in an acute care setting preferred.
