Manages the electronic health record (EPIC), schedules appointments, processes medication requests, handles prior authorizations, and coordinates tests and procedures
Upon successful completion of clinical competency, may also require performing EKGs, lab tests, injections, and/or phlebotomy
Requirements
High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting required
Experience must include direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, that includes hands on patient experience as part of the curriculum, required
Basic computer skills, experience with EMR System a plus
