About this role
Role Overview
Conceive, maintain and evolve the team's data stack for the IMINT AI team to ensure a robust, traceable and high-performance data lifecycle.
Participate in the team's data architecture decisions and contribute to their implementation.
Build and improve data pipelines, datasets and tools used daily by Deep Learning Scientists.
Serve as the IMINT AI team's point of contact with AI Platform: represent the team's needs and facilitate adoption of platform-developed tools.
Support team members in developing Data Engineering skills and disseminate best practices.
Contribute to the team's technical vision by proposing improvements to our data stack and working methods.
Develop data preparation and transformation pipelines required for experiments.
Participate in continuous performance improvement work for detectors in collaboration with Deep Learning Scientists.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering and a desire to explore algorithm development and AI training.
Excellent understanding of databases, storage systems and data processing architectures, with experience in relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
Experience designing and developing data pipelines and orchestration tools (preferably Airflow).
Strong proficiency in Python and good software development practices.
Applied experience on a Cloud platform (preferably AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker).
A Software Engineering mindset (architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD) and a solid understanding of production environments.
Knowledge of satellite imagery and geospatial data is a plus.
