Gross Room Supervisor – Pathologists' Assistant

Role Overview

• Supervises and coordinates the staff and operations of the various Gross Rooms.
• Coordinate workflow in conjunction with other laboratories and clinical services for all tissue samples from gross room receipt through arrival in histology.
• Provides oversight of operations and staffing of all gross rooms in the Morgantown campus.
• Creates and implements new policies and procedures as appropriate.
• Maintains accreditation readiness at all times of areas of oversight.
• Performs daily pathology functions including frozen sections and processing specimens from various locations.
• Documents training and competency assessments for staff.

Requirements

• Current certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant through the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP)
• Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided: WV: Pathologist Assistant License
• Four (4) years of experience as a Pathologists’ Assistant
