Lead the design and production of electrical engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and analytical models throughout all phases of project delivery.
Develop electrical system designs for power distribution, lighting, grounding, low-voltage, and other building electrical systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Prepare and review coordinated construction documents, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, power plans, lighting plans, and supporting design documentation.
Utilize CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to create and coordinate accurate 2D drawings and 3D electrical models.
Review electrical engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project scope, quality standards, coordination requirements, and technical expectations.
Lead construction administration activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), conducting site visits, and supporting field coordination efforts.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to develop coordinated and constructible electrical design solutions.
Assist project managers with scope management, cost tracking, scheduling, and technical risk evaluation related to electrical systems.
Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve complex technical challenges and support project decision-making.
Participate in professional development activities and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, standards, and technical practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) required.
6+ years of experience in electrical engineering required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Active NCEES Record for licensure maintenance preferred.
Demonstrated experience designing commercial building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
Proficiency with CAD and BIM software used for electrical engineering and multidisciplinary coordination.
Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, engineering standards, and construction administration practices.
Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities while working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
