Product Design Lead

Role Overview

• Own design at Schoolhouse
• Set design vision, scope new features, and build out details in Figma
• Work directly with engineers, program managers, and students
• Play the role of a product manager, driving new product features
• Lead scoping and end-to-end design of new features
• Own visual and graphic design for brand identity and product marketing
• Ground design work in user research and community engagement
• Maintain and build onto growing design system
• Develop an inspiring longer-term product vision for Schoolhouse

Requirements

• You’re a design generalist with an eye for visual design, a strong product mindset
• Fluency shipping experiences from ideas to high-fidelity mockups (we use Figma)
• 4+ years of product design experience
• Previously been a solo product designer for an early-stage startup OR driven and shipped a large design project end-to-end
• Clear communication
• Quick execution and action bias
• Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment
• Impact oriented
• Available to work in a US timezone
• Bonus: experience in edtech or social impact spaces
• Bonus: familiarity with frontend web technologies like HTML/CSS
