The Lead Network Architect designs and develops IT infrastructure architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.
The Lead Network Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Provides Level 3 design, engineering implementation & support for the Data Center Network Engineering team at Humana.
Performs on-call and implementation duties on nights and weekends as required.
Perform advanced Data Center Network design, implementation and troubleshooting (CLOS L3 Spine/Leaf, VxLAN BGP EVPN, MEC, MLAG, vPC).
Perform advanced Palo Alto design, implementation and troubleshooting.
Perform advanced Cisco Nexus Route/Switch design, implementation and troubleshooting.
Perform advanced Arista Route/Switch design, implementation and troubleshooting.
Review Humana provided business requirements with Humana Network Architects & Engineering teams.
Create High Level Design & diagrams based on provided business requirements.
Create Low Level Design & traffic flow diagrams based on provided High Level Design diagrams.
Create Low Level Design cabling matrix based on provided High Level Design diagrams.
Verify all necessary equipment and WAN circuits are in stock or have already been ordered.
If additional equipment or WAN circuits are needed, quote them and review w/project team, then work with Humana network leadership to get them ordered.
Create implementation plan (build/deploy plan), verification, and backout to accomplish Low Level Design.
Create implementation Change ticketing in Service NOW, and coordinate w/PM to communicate outage windows following Humana standards.
Implement (perform build/deploy)
with appropriate change ticketing/coordination.
Perform post implementation validation/verification and performance testing
document results and provide to Humana.
Participate in On-Call rotation.
Perform after-hours solutions implementation; Support other teams as needed, after-hours; Use your skills to make an impact.
