About this role
Role Overview
Provide leadership, direction, and technical management for Geographic Information System (GIS) activities
Lead/direct a team of GIS Technologists
Ensure facility and asset information is entered and maintained in the GIS
Responsible for the quality assurance/quality control of asset data
Ensure land base and electric asset data meet quality standards
Support the creation and updates to complex CAD drawings
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and IT leaders
Create the Vision, Strategy, and Roadmap for GIS Data Quality activities
Act as GIS visionary SME and Business Sponsor on IT and Data Quality projects
Monitor team results and identify opportunities for improvement
Provide oversight and guidance to the GIS Data Integrity team
Coordinate with other corporate GIS and mapping groups
Maintain productive and motivated workforce and resolve employee issues
Ensure implementation of organizational improvements and technology
Support Distribution and Transmission Operations through GIS needs
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Geography, Information Technology, Computer Science, Geology or Other Related Degree
five (5) or more years related work experience
High School/GED AND nine (9) or more years related work experience in lieu of Bachelors degree(s)
Strong knowledge of Distribution and/or Transmission, Technology Processes, and Regulatory Requirements
Ability to build and foster relationships with key business partners
Ability to effectively lead others through change
Ability to motivate and coach team members
Strong written and oral communication skills
Effective conflict management skills
Ability to interact effectively with both business and technical staff
Ability to work with internal and external customers
Experience managing budgets and contracts
Experience developing business cases
Experience with data driven decision making and KPIs
Ability to manage long term initiatives, short term initiatives, and effectively prioritize tasks
Ability to identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives
Certified GIS Professional (GISP) Certification
