Provide distribution-focused subject matter expertise in DER power system studies and project development
Maintain distribution system power flow models for evaluating DER interconnections
Conduct technical assessments of proposed solutions associated with the integration of DERs
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify planning needs and develop solutions
Verify the technical feasibility and soundness of proposed plans
Develop mitigation solutions for thermal, voltage, protection, stability, etc.
Conduct peer reviews of engineering and provide coaching to staff engineers
Represent Eversource in industry, regulatory, and stakeholder working groups
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or related
Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in electric utility engineering, power system planning, DER integration, or a related field
Strong understanding of electric power system principles, including distributed generation, energy storage, reliability, load flow, short-circuit analysis, etc.
Knowledge of transmission and distribution system planning practices, standards, and regulatory requirements
Experience using power system modeling and simulation software to perform steady-state power flow, voltage, etc.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead complex technical efforts
