Role Overview
- Reviewing and processing requests for medical records by patients and authorized third parties
- Scheduling depositions and conferences with providers and/or the Medical Records Custodian
- Reviewing all requests for appropriateness of release and obtain authorization as required
- Identifying and appropriately complies with release of records requiring special handling
- Filing all properly executed authorizations to release confidential information in the medical record
- Processing medical records and billing information requests and submit to requester in a timely manner
- Maintaining medical records request tracking log
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year experience with Electronic Medical Health Records
- Proficiency with MS Excel
- Ability to work independently/self-motivated
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be highly organized/detail oriented, and able to work within specific timelines/deadlines
