Lead team of attorneys responsible for supporting U.S. medical network contracting
Act as lead counsel regarding provider relationship, strategy and support
Assist business partners with developing and executing strategic initiatives and key projects impacting medical network
Collaborate with cross-functional legal partners on network products and solutions
Develop strong business relationships with stakeholders involved with Cigna’s provider relationships
Ensure high-quality legal support to key internal clients
Negotiate provider contracts including value-based reimbursement arrangements and delegation agreements
Maintain knowledge of regulatory and enforcement environment affecting the business
Assist business in developing measures to improve contracting governance and implementation
Serve as strategic advisor to the business team and enterprise colleagues on the impact and response to proposed and new rules, regulations and legislation impacting the provider network
Requirements
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership required
10+ years of legal experience in a corporate legal department and/or law firm
3+ years of experience leading, managing, and developing attorneys and legal teams
Significant experience supporting provider contracting, provider relationships, and network strategy within the managed care, health insurance, or healthcare industry
Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and government healthcare programs
Experience negotiating and drafting complex provider agreements, including value-based reimbursement and delegation arrangements
