Senior Electrical Engineer

Stott and May is a mission-driven global leader in independent engineering and technical advisory for the renewable energy industry. They are hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer for their Solar Advisory group, focusing on technical due diligence and independent reviews of electrical engineering design and construction documentation for solar PV projects.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed technical review and independent assessment of solar PV electrical engineering design and construction documentation, end-to-end
• Conduct on-site construction monitoring to assess compliance with design drawings and specifications, good construction practice, and adherence to QA/QC programs
• Act as a key stakeholder in meetings and conference calls with lenders, investors, developers, contractors, and engineers regarding electrical engineering technical reviews and construction issues
• Prepare detailed reports of electrical engineering design reviews, project documentation assessments, and construction monitoring

Requirements:

• B.S. degree in electrical engineering, with focus on power system engineering
• PE License
• 5+ years of experience in the design, procurement, and construction of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation facilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate complex engineering, construction, and operational issues to non-technical folk
• Experience with SKM PowerTools, ETAP, DigSilent, EMTP, or similar power system analysis software
