XFX is building the infrastructure that makes cross-border money movement instant, transparent, and programmable. They are seeking a deeply experienced engineer to architect and extend their trading infrastructure and settlement systems, focusing on smart order routing, FIX protocol integrations, and onchain settlement architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and extend our order routing engine that intelligently distributes flow across banking partners, OTC desks, and onchain liquidity venues. Optimize for fill rate, spread, latency, and counterparty exposure
- Own our FIX server integrations, handling order lifecycle management, clip sizing, partial fills, and real-time position reconciliation across multiple counterparties
- Design and build stablecoin settlement pipelines using intent-based bridge architecture. Integrate with our institutional custody providers for wallet and key management, and build monitoring for onchain transaction finality and confirmation
- Build and scale the APIs our customers depend on — indicative quoting, trade execution, settlement status — with the reliability and latency profile that production FX demands
- Help evolve our hedging algorithms to inventory-based models with real-time exposure tracking, unhedged position alerting, and automated rebalancing across fiat and crypto rails
- Contribute to our Terraform-managed AWS infrastructure, build telemetry and alerting (EventBridge, CloudWatch), and ensure our systems meet the uptime and auditability requirements of regulated finance
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a significant portion spent building trading or financial infrastructure
- Deep understanding of capital markets, particularly FX — you know the difference between spot, forward, and NDF, and you've built systems that execute across them
- Production experience with FIX protocol: you've implemented or maintained FIX connectivity with exchanges, ECNs, or liquidity providers
- Hands-on crypto and stablecoin experience: you've built settlement, custody, or trading systems involving USDC, USDT, or similar digital assets
- Strong systems design instincts — you think in terms of failure modes, idempotency, reconciliation, and auditability
- You've operated systems where money is on the line and understand the gravity of that responsibility
- Experience with smart order routing or algorithmic execution systems
- Familiarity with MPC-based custody solutions (e.g., Fireblocks, Utila) and onchain transaction management
- AWS expertise: Lambda, EventBridge, CloudWatch, API Gateway, VPC networking. Terraform experience strongly preferred
- Experience with cross-border payments, correspondent banking, or remittance infrastructure
- Background in compliance-adjacent engineering: transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, or regulatory reporting
- Comfort working in a small, fast-moving team where you own problems end-to-end from architecture through deployment
