About this role
Hyra is working on behalf of Northwestern Mutual to hire for the position of Senior Data Engineer. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining data products and enterprise data platform infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain data platform infrastructure using Databricks, AWS Lake Formation, and Snowflake
- Implement observability frameworks and tooling for logging, metrics, and telemetry
- Build and configure AWS cloud resources including VPC, EC2, RDS, and Security Groups
- Optimize system performance through automation, self-healing capabilities, and CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain Terraform modules for infrastructure deployment and perform security engineering assessments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Sciences or a related field
- Three years of experience in data engineering or a related technical occupation
- Proficiency with AWS cloud services, system architecture, and networking components
- Experience with Data Lake platforms and distributed data systems
- Expertise in CI/CD pipeline technologies, git repositories, and test-driven development
