Canopy is an organization focused on protecting the world's forests, and they are seeking a Junior Business Systems Analyst. This role involves operationalizing a Salesforce overhaul, supporting new accounting systems, and improving organizational information access.
Responsibilities:
- Support organization-wide business systems improvements, with a focus on Salesforce for fundraising and campaign data, knowledge management, and other key systems used across Programs, Development, and Operations
- Support the rollout and adoption of a redesigned Salesforce used by Programs and Development teams
- Coordinate data readiness, migration, and integrations related to Salesforce, accounting and other operational systems
- Lead improvements to document storage, archiving, and information organization, including supporting the implementation of a knowledge base
- Support data quality, reporting and system alignment ensuring consistency across platforms, in partnership with Operations leadership and MEL
- Develop and maintain documentation, guidance, and training materials to support effective system use and handoff
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience practicing business systems analysis, OR compelling equivalent experience that demonstrates your aptitude for this work
- Exposure to the administration of business systems (CRM, ERP, HRIS, accounting, marketing, or service platforms), including configuration, automation, and reporting as part of broader organizational work flows
- Strong data management skills, including imports/exports, formatting, deduplication, field mapping, cleanup, reconciliation, and basic spreadsheet formulas
- Experience working with role- and permission-based access models (e.g., roles, permission sets, profiles), and the ability to follow established change control and UAT processes
- Ability to translate identified organizational needs into practical system updates, and to provide clear documentation and basic user support
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion in all aspects of the job

- Sound judgment and the ability to solve non-routine problems independently

- Experience supporting nonprofit data systems, including routine donor or program data updates and basic reporting
- Direct Salesforce configuration experience, including Objects, Fields, Flows, Validation Rules, and Reports/Dashboards
- Salesforce certifications (Admin, Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder) or Trailhead Superbadges
- Experience with integrations (APIs, Mailchimp, Zapier/Make) or basic SOQL
- Experience with more advanced data management through the use of SQL or R programming
- Knowledge of data governance or privacy/compliance considerations (e.g., GDPR, CPRA, PIPEDA) in a CRM context
