ERG is a research and consulting firm that provides a wide range of support to federal, state, and commercial clients. They are seeking a Business Development Lead to drive Navy-related business growth and provide program management leadership, focusing on client engagement, proposal strategy, and development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support business development efforts - Primarily for U.S. Navy opportunities, with potential to expand in time to other federal and non-federal clients
- Provide oversight and participation in marketing meetings with prospective clients and teaming partners
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Navy stakeholders, program managers, and industry partners
- Identify, qualify, and track new business opportunities aligned with ERG’s strategic priorities
- Lead proposal planning and strategy, including win themes, teaming strategies, and competitive analysis
- Oversee the preparation of proposals, including outlines, capabilities matrices, technical and management content, and reviews
- Track business development activities and maintain accurate records
- May serve as Program Manager on contracts, providing oversight of scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination
Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 10 years in a role where 50% or more of time was dedicated to business development and marketing
- Experience leading proposal efforts for federal government contracts
- Proven ability to develop and maintain client and partner relationships in a professional services environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams
- Must be within driving distance of the Washington, DC metro area and able to travel locally approximately 1–2 days per week
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
- Experience working in consulting and/or facilities-related support services
- Experience working for or with the Department of Defense, with U.S. Navy experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with program management responsibilities on federal government contracts, particularly in a consulting or facilities-related environment
