Ascension is a leading nonprofit Catholic health system, and they are seeking a Clinical Data and Visualization Engineer to support the data strategy for Dell Children’s heart center. This role involves designing and delivering dashboards, resolving technical issues, and implementing scalable solutions to provide measurable business value to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading data needs to support the data strategy for Dell Children’s heart center
- This hands-on role is a contributor for design & delivery of dashboards to and helping resolve technical issues to meet data request targets
- The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, proven data design, implementation capabilities, strong business acumen, and an innate drive to deliver results
- They will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic health care environment
- This role will be required to work iteratively on the cloud platform, tableau and redcap to design, develop and implement scalable, high performance solutions that offer measurable business value to customers
- Some of the key projects this role will work on include: Outcomes Annual Report, Psychosocial Survey Measures in RedCap, Pulmonary Hypertension RedCap updates, Cardiology Quality Assurance Tableau Dashboard, Heart Center Patient Identifier, RedCap Patient Referral Form, IMPACT Clinic RedCap
Requirements:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills with the ability to effectively convey content to both technical and non-technical associates
- Experience in a large scale, high-volume data warehouse environment
- Experience with google cloud platform development tools Pub/sub, cloud storage, and big query
- Solid independent analyst with limited guidance
- Deep knowledge of SQL, REDCap, Google Workspace, Tableau, Informatica Data QualityProven expertise in data analysis techniques and tools
- Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts
- Ability to clearly communicate and articulate results to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Makes decisions regarding daily priorities for a work group; provides guidance to and/or assists staff on non-routine or escalated issues
- Collaborates with senior professionals in the development of methods, techniques and analytical approach
- Able to effectively communicate highly technical information to numerous audiences, including leadership, the user community, and less-experienced staff
- Leads complex projects/activities on a regular basis and Exercises independent judgment on complex issues regarding job and related tasks Consistently communicate on status of project deliverables
- Consistently provide work effort estimates to management to assist in setting priorities

- Project Management experience
- Healthcare experience - Worked in a healthcare environment; familiar with medical terminology
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
- Business/systems analyst experience
- Experience with data governance concepts, data quality management or principles for information risk oversight
- Experience in Master Data Management (MDM)
- Proven business analysis techniques including process workflow documentation and definition, current state documentation and requirements gathering
- Risk-based mentality; Appreciates the significance of governing data
- Expertise with modern open-source database development skills
- Experience with version control platform github
- Makes recommendations to leadership on new processes, tools and techniques, or development of new products and services
- Ability to advise leadership on approaches to optimize for data platform success
- Solve problems as they arise and communicate potential roadblocks to manage expectations
