Data Support Engineer

Kavaliro is seeking a dedicated Data Engineer to support their legacy data pipeline while the core team migrates to a new Medallion Architecture. The role involves managing data issues, acting as a technical bridge between systems, and ensuring operational documentation is integrated into the new platform.

Responsibilities:

• Support the legacy pipeline (Snowflake-dbt) while the core team focuses on the high-priority migration to a Medallion Architecture
• Manage the #data channel queue, diagnosing and troubleshooting incoming issues while handling small, agile requirements—such as adding columns to existing models—to keep the business running smoothly
• Act as a link between the legacy system and the new Medallion Architecture team, ensuring that operational fixes are documented and eventually integrated into the new platform

Requirements:

• Strong Communication skills
• 3+ years of related experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering and pipeline development using Snowflake
• Technical expertise with data pipelines, API management, data models, and data warehouses
• Hands-on experience with SQL database design
• Experience troubleshooting tickets in Jira
• Deep knowledge of Snowflake and Technical debt
• Analytical Problem-Solving: A strong ability to diagnose root causes in data pipelines and translate technical issues into actionable insights for stakeholders
