Seagate Technology is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Storage Systems Engineer to support their T1 customers. The role involves collaborating with customers to define product requirements, troubleshooting issues, and working with development teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers to define their product requirements and goals and champion those back into the organization
- Work with presales on integration and implementation process for a customer and ensure the development plan is in sync
- Lead process between customer and development to define goals of product releases
- Champion any integration or field issues brought up by customers development team
- Communicate the issue and state between customer and development
- Work with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems
- Stay current with emerging storage technologies and industry trends
Requirements:
- Experience in customer facing, systems engineering or technical support roles
- Understanding of storage protocols including SAS, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, and Fibre Channel
- Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud storage solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in engineering related field (i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer Engineering, Materials, Physics, or Information Technology) and 8+ years of experience or master's degree in the same and 6+ years' experience or PhD and 3+ years' experience or equivalent experience and education
- Experience with containerized environments and Kubernetes storage
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
