Application Development Engineer - Flexibles

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking an Application Development Engineer to lead the development of new products from ideation to commercialization. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring product safety, and developing customer relationships while focusing on flexible packaging solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop packaging for new and existing products
• Select appropriate packaging materials based on product needs, cost, and sustainability objectives
• Analysis of test data to ensure packaging performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align packaging with product and marketing requirements
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., ASTM, FDA, ISTA)
• Continuously improve packaging designs to reduce costs and comply with regulatory changes
• Travel to support trials and participate in customer engagements
• Performs other similar and related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in packaging design and development
• Strong understanding of flexible packaging materials and manufacturing processes
• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
• Experience with sustainable packaging
