Integra Connect is a value-based, precision medicine company specializing in Health IT and digital health solutions. The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that support healthcare analytics, ensuring compliance with data privacy standards and transforming complex healthcare data into usable datasets.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver healthcare data from multiple sources, including EHRs, claims systems, labs, and registries
- Develop and maintain data models and warehouses that support analytics, reporting, and real-world evidence generation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare data privacy and security standards
- Work with product managers, architects, and data scientists to translate business and clinical requirements into technical specifications
- Implement best practices for data quality, lineage, and governance across all data assets
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL/ELT workflows using tools such as Snowflake, dbt, and modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Participate in peer code and design reviews to ensure accuracy, scalability, and maintainability
- Troubleshoot complex data issues, conduct root cause analyses, and implement long-term solutions
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for healthcare data engineering and integration
- Support internal and external stakeholders by addressing data-related inquiries and production issues
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data or software engineering
- Strong SQL development experience, including stored procedures and performance optimization
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, and cloud-based data technologies
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modeling concepts
- Working knowledge of healthcare data standards and formats (HL7, FHIR, X12, CCD, etc.)
- Familiarity with healthcare data types (clinical data, claims, pharmacy, lab, and patient registries)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (SQL preferred; Python or Java a plus)
- Experience working in agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Mage Ai (a plus), Airflow, Prefect)
- Exposure to healthcare analytics, population health management, or real-world evidence generation
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability frameworks and APIs
