SoFi is a next-generation financial services company and national bank that is transforming personal finance. They are seeking a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer to serve as the primary technical bridge for employer partners, designing and delivering integrations for financial wellness benefits and platform experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical discovery and pre‑sales: translate employer benefit objectives and constraints into clear solution architectures, integration plans, and implementation timelines for SoFi at Work programs
- Architect end‑to‑end integrations: eligibility file ingestion, SSO/OIDC/SAML, HRIS/payroll connections, webhooks and REST APIs, and recordkeeper reporting required for contribution programs
- Scope and run pilots/PoCs for priority benefits and awareness programs to validate value, data flows, and operational readiness
- Serve as the technical SME through implementation: configure plans, test data feeds, triage and resolve integration issues, and guide partners on best practices to ensure successful launches
- Own technical responses for RFIs/RFPs and security questionnaires; clearly represent our architecture, controls, and operational processes to partner IT, Security, and Benefits stakeholders
- Create enablement assets (sample requests, Postman collections, reference implementations) and improve internal/external documentation to streamline partner onboarding
- Act as voice of the customer: aggregate technical feedback, edge cases, and feature requests to inform Product and Engineering roadmaps
- Drive reliability and quality: define test plans, data validation checks, and monitoring for critical workflows (e.g., verifications, contributions, reimbursements)
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to continuously reduce time‑to‑launch and improve partner and member outcomes across the SoFi at Work Dashboard and contribution programs
Requirements:
- 7+ years in solutions engineering, implementation engineering, or technical account management, including direct ownership of complex enterprise integrations
- Strong proficiency with REST APIs, JSON, and webhooks; comfort reading/writing scripts and queries (e.g., Python/JavaScript/SQL) for troubleshooting and automation
- Hands-on experience integrating employer systems (HRIS/payroll, SSO) and benefits/recordkeeper data flows for programs like student loan contributions, tuition reimbursement, retirement match, or emergency savings
- Ability to decompose ambiguous business requirements into secure, scalable technical designs with clear operational runbooks
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences; consultative approach that builds trust with partner engineering, IT/security, and benefits teams
- Building on the communications skills above - you have a knack for delivering status and KPI information outward in a consistent, easily digestible, and quickly consumed formats
- Proven program management across multiple concurrent projects; crisp planning, risk management, and stakeholder updates
- Familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance considerations in financial services (e.g., data minimization, access controls, auditability)
- Experience adopting AI tooling (e.g., copilots for triage, doc generation, and data QA) to speed efficiency and drive better outcomes
- Domain depth in financial wellness or adjacent fintech, including SoFi at Work program areas: Student Loan Contributions, Student Loan Verification (401(k) match), Tuition Reimbursement, Emergency Savings, and our Financial Wellness Dashboard
- Practical familiarity with HCM/payroll and benefits ecosystems and benefits platforms/recordkeepers from prior integrations
- Experience improving documentation, creating code samples, and enabling partner developers during onboarding
- Comfort with observability and analytics (e.g., logging, SQL/BI) to validate data quality and monitor production flows
