VP of Product Management

HiveMQ is the Industrial AI Platform helping enterprises move from connected devices to intelligent operations. As the VP of Product Management, you will lead the product function and define the multi-year product vision and strategy for HiveMQ’s Industrial AI platform, ensuring alignment across Product, Design, and Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Take over leadership of the Product function, initially managing a small Product and Docs team, and then shaping and building the broader product organization to support HiveMQ’s Industrial AI strategy
• Define the multi‑year product vision and strategy for HiveMQ’s Industrial AI platform, translating company goals into clear portfolio choices, investments, and bets across data streaming, data intelligence, and agentic AI
• Lead 0-to-1 product initiatives from conception through market success, leveraging your proven experience launching new data intelligence and analytics products
• Design and run the product development operating model at scale, including planning and portfolio processes, discovery and experimentation standards, product metrics, and AI‑first, data‑driven decision practices
• Align Product, Design, and Engineering into one cohesive system, ensuring strong partnerships, clear ownership, and an operating cadence that lets teams execute autonomously while staying tightly connected to strategy
• Work in a tight Product–Design–Engineering leadership triangle with the CTO and VP Engineering, ensuring end‑to‑end alignment from architecture to user experience and customer outcomes
• Own product‑line business performance – adoption, ARR, retention, customer lifetime value, and efficiency – and make clear investment calls on where to double‑down, accelerate, or stop when outcomes aren’t there
• Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing leadership bench (Directors and Senior Directors), coaching them to independently run their domains, hire and grow top PM talent, and raise the bar for product craft and decision quality
• Partner closely with C‑suite peers to connect product strategy with revenue models, pricing and packaging, GTM motions, and strategic customer and partner plays
• Represent HiveMQ’s product strategy externally, building deep relationships with strategic customers and partners, managing critical customer escalations in partnership with Sales and CS/Support, and confidently articulating our roadmap and value
• Invest in shared platforms, automation, and AI‑assisted workflows that materially increase the productivity and leverage of Product, Design, and Engineering, enabling the organization to scale output faster than headcount growth

Requirements:

• Extensive product leadership experience – typically 15+ years of total work experience, with a significant portion in product management, and 7+ years leading managers and distributed teams across geographies and time zones
• Proven business ownership for a major product line or business unit, including setting multi‑year product strategy, driving growth and retention, and owning key revenue and efficiency KPIs (you are comfortable 'owning the number' from the product side)
• Demonstrated 0-to-1 product success, including taking at least one (ideally two) products from concept to market success in the data and analytics domain
• Strong ability to design and run a scalable product operating model, aligning Product, Design, and Engineering, and establishing AI‑first, evidence‑based decision making as the default way of working
• Strong financial and portfolio acumen: you treat headcount, budget, and engineering capacity as capital to deploy; you are skilled at making clear tradeoffs on where to invest, where to accelerate, and where to stop
• Track record of building and leading high‑performing leadership teams (Directors and Senior Directors), including hiring, coaching, and evolving the product management organization to match changing strategic priorities
• You're an experienced product leader who has already run a major product line or business and has the presence and drive to lead an entire function, not just a single product
• A true player–coach mentality: you are comfortable being hands‑on, initially leading a small Product team, and doing the work yourself rather than only managing through layers of people
• Strong domain alignment with data intelligence / analytics products similar to HiveMQ Pulse – you have helped customers turn streaming or industrial data into governed, contextualized, AI‑ready intelligence
• High cross‑regional collaboration comfort, able to work effectively across US and EU time zones with engineering, design, and GTM stakeholders
• A proven ability to create strong alignment between Product, Design, and Engineering, embedding modern, AI‑first product practices that connect clear strategy with disciplined execution through leaders and teams
• Deep domain experience in industrial software, IoT/IIoT, data platforms, analytics, or AI/ML products, ideally in enterprise or mission‑critical contexts
• Prior experience operating at VP/CPO level in a high‑growth B2B software or SaaS company, with direct responsibility for P&L, pricing and packaging, and tight GTM alignment
• A strong track record of leading AI‑native transformations – embedding AI both into product capabilities (e.g., data intelligence, automation, decisioning) and into product development workflows (discovery, roadmap, analytics, portfolio management)
• Experience rebuilding or scaling a product management function, including defining org structure, hiring strategy, career paths, and PM practices for a modern, outcome‑driven organization
• Recognized thought leadership in product management (e.g., speaking, writing, or community leadership) and comfort representing product strategy with customers, partners, and occasionally board‑level stakeholders
