Software Engineer - Data Platform

R1 RCM is building healthcare’s first Revenue Operating System, utilizing AI to streamline hospital billing and reimbursement processes. The Software Engineer - Data Platform will develop and maintain the services and pipelines that handle large-scale healthcare data, ensuring performance and compliance while supporting analytics and model workloads.

Responsibilities:

• You’ll build and operate the services and pipelines that move data through Phare’s AI and product stack
• You’ll develop reliable systems for ingesting, transforming, and serving large-scale healthcare data, ensuring high performance, observability, and compliance
• You’ll own the backend interfaces that power analytics and model workloads, working across streaming, storage, and application layers to keep data flowing safely and efficiently

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of engineering experience
• At least 2 years directly working on production data pipelines/platforms
• Experienced in architecting and building microservices and ETL pipelines in Python, Go, or Java
• Experienced building and managing infrastructure with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong with Spark, Airflow, or Kafka for orchestrating and streaming data flows
• Adept at implementing observability and reliability practices
• Instrumenting pipelines with logs and metrics to detect drift, latency, and data quality issues
• Experience with healthcare data (FHIR, HL7)
