LightFeather is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with strong GitLab platform expertise to support and enhance enterprise DevSecOps and collaboration environments. The ideal candidate will drive automation, implement CI/CD best practices, and advocate for broader GitLab adoption across the organization while ensuring compliance with federal standards such as NIST 800-53.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize GitLab, Jira, and Confluence, ensuring reliability, security, and performance
- Design, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines in GitLab with integrated security and compliance checks
- Develop and maintain automation for build, deployment, monitoring, and platform management
- Manage infrastructure with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s, EKS, Helm), and Linux server administration
- Conduct gap analysis and recommend platform enhancements to improve efficiency and user adoption
- Act as a GitLab ambassador, demonstrating value and encouraging adoption across stakeholders
- Provide technical consultation on upgrades, features, and integrations to strengthen platform capabilities
- Ensure compliance with federal security requirements (e.g., NIST 800-53, FedRAMP)
- Support cloud environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a focus on scalable, reliable infrastructure
Requirements:
- Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance
- Strong, hands-on GitLab administration and CI/CD experience
- 3+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Proficiency in Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, etc.)
- Skilled in Bash/Shell and Python for automation
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s, EKS, Helm)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical value
- Prior federal government experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications or platforms
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience migrating applications from on-premises to cloud environments
- Proven track record of improving or optimizing platforms such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or Ansible
