Piper Companies is seeking a Network Security Engineer to support a global security and compliance organization within a leading technology company. The role involves ensuring products meet strict security and certification standards, and requires configuring network and security technologies as well as collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities:
- Support certification and compliance projects by configuring and validating network and security technologies
- Deploy and configure Cisco products in virtualized or Linux based environments such as Ubuntu
- Perform initial device setup including software installation, feature configuration, licensing, and operational readiness
- Console into devices and work with protocols such as SSH, syslog, NTP, RADIUS, and SSMP
- Apply security engineering knowledge to identify vulnerabilities, assess risk, and validate compliance requirements
- Produce detailed technical documentation and certification deliverables
- Collaborate with cross functional engineering, product, and global teams
- Manage multiple technical tasks with minimal guidance while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Requirements:
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
- Strong background in IT networking and security
- Hands on experience with SSH, syslog, NTP, RADIUS, SSMP, and related protocols
- Ability to configure, deploy, and administer Cisco products
- Experience working in virtualized environments or on Linux based systems such as Ubuntu
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex technical requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation
- Understanding of routing, switching, datacenter or cloud technologies, and encryption or cryptography
- Ability to work across global teams and communicate with both technical and non technical groups
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for product evaluations
- EST based candidates preferred
- CCNA, CCNP, or similar certifications preferred
- Experience with government compliance frameworks such as Common Criteria is highly preferred
