Moody's Corporation is a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, transforming how the world sees risk. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to tackle complex challenges in processing large amounts of data and contribute to the development of scalable, cloud-based SaaS solutions for risk analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Design, Develop, and Maintain high-performance risk analytics engines and Restful APIs for cloud-based applications using Java and Scala
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments
- Build and maintain infrastructure using AWS services (e.g. EC2, S3, RDS)
- Collaborate with fellow Engineers, Product team members, and Quality Engineers to develop multi-tier, multi-layered application framework and functional components
Requirements:
- Expertise in Java, Scala, C# or C++
- Strong Skills in analytical computing and algorithms
- Passion for finding and solving difficult problems
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to convey complex ideas to others
- Experience developing and deploying cloud-based applications, preferably on AWS
- Experience in functional programming
- Interest in exploring agentic AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science or related fields with 5 or more years of industry experience
- Preferred experience developing distributed systems and working with big data technologies
