About this role

They are seeking a Software Engineer to develop features for operational databases, focusing on modern, AI-enabled workloads, while collaborating with a geo-distributed engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop features spanning
- Query engine
- Index structures
- Storage layouts
- Work across PostgreSQL (relational) and Mongo‑compatible (NoSQL) systems
- Collaborate in a geo‑distributed engineering team
- Build mission‑critical operational databases
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
- Solid experience as a developer
- Experience in C, C++
- Strong understanding of: Algorithms, Systems architecture
- End‑to‑end ownership of complex systems
- Strong background in: Systems design, Databases
- Experience in: Relational and/or NoSQL database engines
- Ability to work on: Query, indexing, and storage subsystems
