Symetra is a national financial services company dedicated to helping people achieve their financial goals. The Project Manager III role is responsible for planning and leading multiple large projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget while managing stakeholder expectations and project risks.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with Project Sponsor(s) to develop comprehensive business cases and Cost Benefit Analyses (CBAs)
- Is proficient in multiple project management and software development methodologies and applies the methodology best suited to the project
- Ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget and delivers quality results that meet Customer expectations
- Develops project structure, detailed schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports
- Assembles resources and manages the project team so that project objectives are delivered within time, scope, quality or budget constraints
- Actively manages risks, issues and concerns throughout the project lifecycle and employs effective change control processes
- Clearly communicates project status and metrics with all Stakeholders affected by the project as well as Corporate Governance and the Executive Management team
- Evangelizes project management processes, tools and techniques as a means of delivering business value. Is sought out as a mentor and coach
Requirements:
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- 8-10 years of cumulative, relevant experience
- Experienced professional with considerable and extensive skills knowledge for the role
- Possesses wide range of experience and uses professional practices to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
- Is the recognized expert within the department or division
- Work requires in-depth knowledge of the field as well as the ability to evaluate external factors and impact to strategic goals
- High school diploma required
- PMP preferred
