About this role
Versa Networks is focused on transforming security integrated with networking. The Sr. Wireless Development Engineer will be a vital member of the DEV team, primarily responsible for developing and testing wireless products, while also contributing to networking technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Work with engineering teams to design, develop and debug new features
- Write/maintain design and architecture documents
- Work on reproducing and fixing the issues found during engineering test phase and field tests
- Improve performance, scalability, features of the product
- Help improve product quality and performance through regular technical feedback
Requirements:
- Proficient and Hands on in C programming, Data structures and Algorithms
- Experience Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax protocols
- Good debugging skills and especially with tools like GDB, strace etc
- Good understanding of Linux/Unix system programming, internals and drivers
- Good understanding of Networking protocol stack like TCP/IP
- 10+ years of work experience in the wireless industry
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Having working experience on OpenWRT/Wifi is added advantage
- Good understanding of 11ax features like UL and DL OFDMA,MU MIMO,TWT,BSS color
- Understanding of PHY Layer and MAC/application layer and experience in debugging throughput issues
- Strong scripting skills in at least one common language (Python, Perl, etc.)
- Knowledge of bug tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla
