Pioneer Power Group is a trusted leader in power system studies, seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Electrical Engineer to join their talented Engineering team. This hands-on role involves performing engineering studies for electrical distribution systems and direct client interaction, contributing to nationwide power system study projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering studies for electrical distribution systems. This includes short-circuit studies, coordination studies, arc flash hazard analyses, load flow analyses and motor starting studies
- Evaluate protective device ratings, develop time-current coordination plots to optimize overcurrent settings for circuit breakers and/or relays, and calculate incident energy levels at equipment locations
- Provide recommendations to improve system reliability and/or help end users work more safely
- Review specifications, customer drawings, and technical proposals
- Communicate directly with clients regarding project status, results, and future needs
- Collaborate with senior engineers to help scale and improve the delivery of our solutions
- Responsible for performing technical work, managing projects, and other related tasks as directed by the Company’s CEO or his designee
- Contribute individually and as part of a team to nationwide power system study projects
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in an electrical engineering role
- Experience or academic exposure to power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash)
- Proficiency with any of the following software: SKM Systems Analysis/eTap/EasyPower
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter mindset: organized, dependable, and eager to learn
