Cash App is a dynamic ecosystem developing unique financial products to redefine the world's relationship with money. They are seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead the visual design of the Afterpay product, focusing on creating clear and empowering financial interactions while collaborating with various teams to innovate in the financial space.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end product design of key initiatives across Lending and Commerce, setting a high bar for craft, clarity, and emotional resonance
- Champion experimentation and creative exploration that push the boundaries of what financial tools can be
- Define the visual and motion language for complex financial interactions - from cash flow animations to repayment journeys - and guide others in implementing them
- Drive the development of interactive product experiences and visualizations that help customers understand and act on their financial behavior
- Collaborate with AI/ML and data science teams to shape generative, adaptive, and personalized financial experiences
- Influence product strategy by framing concepts through compelling visual narratives and prototypes
- Mentor designers, helping to elevate visual rigor across the team
- Partner with the design systems team to evolve our visual language, animations, and interaction patterns
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience crafting impactful digital products
- A portfolio that demonstrates world-class visual, motion and product design, in shipping consumer products
- Proven experience designing end-to-end product experiences across mobile and web
- Expert-level fluency in motion and prototyping tools
- Proven ability to integrate visuals and motion into scalable systems and cohesive product narratives
- Experience working with or designing for AI-driven, adaptive, or personalized interfaces
- Strategic thinking and comfort with ambiguity - you're able to translate loosely defined concepts into compelling design directions
- Deep interest in making financial products more expressive, human, and accessible to the next generation
