General Dynamics Information Technology is a global technology and professional services company, and they are seeking an AI/ML Engineer/Architect. In this role, you will design and deliver AI/ML solutions to enhance decision-making and operational readiness within the Defense sector.
Responsibilities:
- Lead/Manage/Support the development of AI/ML architectures for fleet operations, cyber defense, and logistics, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with DoD standards
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including data scientists, systems engineers, and enterprise architects—to translate complex requirements into robust, deployable solutions
- Drive key outcomes such as reduced data processing times, increased predictive accuracy, and accelerated AI model deployment across command networks
- Utilize cutting‑edge technologies such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, and secure multi‑party computation to meet the Defense sector's stringent security and performance requirements
- Design and implement agentic AI systems leveraging Crew AI, LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI, Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable tool use, memory, and multi-step autonomous task execution
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or another STEM field
- 8+ years of related experience in AI/ML engineering, solution architecture, and system integration, with a proven track record in defense or federal government environments
- Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑Learn)
- Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience with secure data pipelines, encryption, and compliance with DoD security controls
- Ability to develop and present AI proposals, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and implementation roadmaps
- Active Secret clearance to start with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET/SCI
- US citizenship required
- Excellent consultative selling skills; ability to engage stakeholders, identify new opportunities, and articulate the value of AI/ML solutions
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to distill complex requirements into actionable deliverables and guide multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to travel (up to 25%) and work on-site at GDIT facilities as needed
