LaunchDarkly is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to drive complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives across their platform and product organization. The role involves defining and optimizing processes, ensuring effective communication, and delivering critical technical programs that shape the future of their product and business.
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the end-to-end execution of large, complex technical programs (e.g., core platform migrations, security and compliance initiatives, new product launches) across multiple engineering and product teams
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Design leadership to define program scope, objectives, success metrics, and realistic delivery schedules
- Implement, refine, and champion lightweight, effective program management best practices and development processes (e.g., agile methodologies, release management) to increase engineering efficiency and predictability
- Proactively identify, prioritize, and mitigate program risks and dependencies, ensuring alignment and clear accountability across all stakeholders
- Serve as the central communication hub, providing regular, clear, and concise status updates to executive leadership, engineering teams, and cross-functional partners
- Facilitate effective decision-making and alignment among diverse teams, including Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Engineering Manager, or similar role driving technical programs within a fast-paced, high-growth technology company
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex software engineering projects, particularly in a SaaS, cloud-native, or distributed systems environment
- Deep understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and negotiating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
- Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with engineering teams, serving as a trusted partner and advisor
- Proficiency with program and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Google Workspace)
- Experience in the Feature Flagging, DevOps, CI/CD, or Developer Tools space is a plus
- A strong technical background, having previously worked as a software engineer or in a highly technical role
- Experience driving programs with compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001)
