Genesis10 is currently seeking a Business Analyst for a 6+ month contract position. In this role, you will consult with various Business Units to determine technology requirements and support organizational goals by reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate implementation of the system software, including conversion of data to the new system, and work with application support personnel to resolve system problems
- Define project requirements based on expressed needs of customers. Help identify alternatives when necessary
- Document and diagram existing and new workflows to help the business units identify opportunities for efficiency
- Prioritize requirements based on business benefit/impact and cost
- Produce business system documentation (ex. BRD, RFP, RFI, data workflows, data dictionaries, STTM) for new and existing applications
- Serve as a liaison and facilitator between OR Companies and system development personnel
- Document, perform and coordinate system testing activities including developing and executing system UAT test plans
- Assist in the planning, implementation and coordination of new system training as well as documentation of test results
- Define curriculum, design material and train End Users on in-house software
- Monitor project/enhancement release timelines for multiple software applications and report status and issues to Management
- Communicate prioritization and requirements to Management
- Lead client facing status meetings to communicate objectives, plans, status and results clearly, focusing on key points
- Partner with functional experts to identify ownership and coordinate knowledge transfers
- Regular consistent attendance is required, that could include attendance before or after your time zones customary work hours while working remotely with other time zones
- Ability to accept supervision and direction
- Ability to work with assigned leadership and cross-functional areas

- Act as a champion for your projects, adapt and address unique challenges in collaborative and creative ways
- In addition to business analyst functions, may also perform some of the work defined as project management responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent related work experience
- 2 or more years of proven work experience as a business analyst in the field of software development and/or information technology (insurance industry experience is a major plus)
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects tasks
- Displays advanced communication (verbal and written), attention to detail, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills
- Demonstrated advanced interpersonal, customer service, presentation, influencing and relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team to meet established deadlines
- Ability to apply judgement to balance process compliance with achievement of business objectives
- Background in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or web technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook
- CBAP or PBA certification is a plus
- Experience with a project management tools (LAN Desk, Jira, ServiceNow) is a plus
- Advanced business operations knowledge to include the understanding of the insurance market is preferred
- Knowledge of the insurance business process is preferred
