About this role
New York Technology Partners is seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms and storage solutions. The role focuses on modern data architecture and enterprise data migration initiatives, requiring strong experience in data modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize data storage solutions, with emphasis on MongoDB performance tuning, indexing strategies, and schema design
- Support enterprise database migration initiatives, including work with Oracle environments, stored procedures, and relational data modeling
- Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to support analytics and operational workloads
- Implement and enforce data governance standards, data quality checks, and secure access control mechanisms
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting data engineering workflows and deployments
- Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams on automation and provisioning (Infrastructure as Code; Terraform experience preferred)
- Integrate data across multiple platforms and systems, including big data and distributed processing technologies
- Design and deploy scalable data solutions within cloud environments (Azure or similar platforms)
- Ensure solutions meet regulatory, security, and contractual compliance requirements when handling sensitive data
Requirements:
- Strong experience as a Data Engineer working with large-scale or enterprise data platforms
- Deep expertise in NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB (storage design, indexing, performance optimization)
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts and experience with Oracle or similar RDBMS platforms
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
- Knowledge of data governance practices, data security, and access controls
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable)
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data systems
- Experience supporting regulated or highly secure environments (e.g., government, financial services, or healthcare)
- Experience with big data frameworks or distributed processing systems
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Understanding of database migration and modernization initiatives
