Compass Group USA is the data and artificial intelligence engine of one of the largest foodservice organizations in the world. They are seeking a Senior Product Manager to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Item/Product master data, ensuring high-quality data supports critical business processes across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Item/Product data strategy and roadmap that aligns with our organization's data management goals and objectives
- Identify opportunities to improve how product, manufacturer, and distributor data is captured, mastered, and consumed across the organization
- Establish domain-level KPIs (data quality, adoption, operational efficiency, cycle time reduction, etc.) and measure product impact
- Partner with business leaders across procurement, supply chain, culinary, menu planning, finance, and digital teams to understand pain points and translate them into scalable product capabilities
- Serve as a voice for the Item/Product domain, driving alignment across technical and business stakeholders
- Develop and maintain a clear value narrative and business case for Item/Product master data investments
- Influence executive-level conversations around data strategy, governance, and investment priorities
- Define and manage the operating model for Item/Product data, including stewardship workflows, governance policies, and cross-domain dependencies
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Architecture, Data Analysts, and Governance teams to translate strategy into clear epics, features, and acceptance criteria
- Prioritize backlogs based on business value, risk, and technical feasibility
- Lead product discovery efforts, including process mapping, business case development, and solution validation
- Ensure delivery aligns with enterprise data standards and long-term platform scalability
- Lead PI planning, roadmap reviews, and product increment alignment within a SAFe or Agile environment
- Manage product lifecycle from concept through release and adoption
- Drive change management and user adoption efforts, including training, communications, and stakeholder engagement
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management, with at least 3–5 years operating at a senior level
- Demonstrated ownership of a complex enterprise data or platform product
- Experience working within Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, or enterprise data platform initiatives
- Proven ability to define product vision, KPIs, and roadmaps tied to measurable business outcomes
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, architecture, analytics, and business operations
- Strong executive communication skills — comfortable presenting to senior leadership and influencing strategic direction
- Experience operating in Agile or SAFe environments with ownership of backlog prioritization and roadmap execution
- Experience in food service, supply chain, procurement, retail, or manufacturing environments
- Experience standing up new product capabilities within an organization in transformation
- Familiarity with MDM platforms
- Experience working with cloud data ecosystems
