Lumen Technologies is a company focused on connecting people, data, and applications to ignite business growth. They are seeking a Senior Network Implementation Repair Engineer to manage projects involving the maintenance and repair of OSP fiber facilities, ensuring quality and timely completion while overseeing various vendors and contractors.
Responsibilities:
- End to end project management for various projects involving the maintenance and repair of OSP fiber facilities
- Oversee the repair process from temporary to permanent completion and ensure that the repairs meet the quality, budget, and timelines expected
- Build relationships, manage, and supervise engineering vendors, construction contractors, various trade workers, and project managers
- Effective workload balancing among resources to maintain schedules
- Effectively manage the quality and completion of work by all vendors through inspecting, identifying, and correcting any issues
- Field interface for all repair engineering or construction
- Report on the progress of all repair projects and update key stakeholders and applicable systems
- Creating MOPs for all maintenance activities on the fiber network
- Act as an escalation point for less tenured team members
- Multi-discipline expertise and responsibility for isolating and restoring complex network impairments
- Must have the ability to work after normal business hours and/or perform shift work as needed to perform needs of the business
- Repair and maintain the network according to Lumen's objectives, standards, and specifications
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the network and networking protocols along with excellent communication skills to perform in-depth troubleshooting
- Supports the Outside Plant (OSP) fiber network by performing on-call duties, network troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs and analyzes complex network issues to provide short-term and/or long-term resolution plans
- Manage and review the creation and receipt of engineering drawings, plans, specifications, contracts, and permits
- Coordinate and communicate with internal and external parties including customers, vendors, contractors, regulators, and utility companies
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, policies, and procedures for the network projects
- Be able to perform network audit activities, be able to read As-builts and maintain the 3GIS database ensuring records are accurate at all times to maintain the integrity of our network
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education with 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunication network engineering, construction, maintenance, and repair environments
- Possesses project management and coordination skills, as well as strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Knowledgeable and able to work in appropriate systems, such as CAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Ability to build relationships with cross functional partner departments, vendors, and developers
- Fluent on current approved products and technology
