Senior Backend Engineer, Core Product

Pulley is on a mission to make it easier for anyone to start a company by providing cap table management tools. They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and ship systems that power their core equity platform, focusing on delivering complex features and improving system performance.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data models that power new features and improvements across Pulley's core equity platform
• Own end-to-end delivery of complex projects, from scoping technical approach through to production rollout
• Work on our persistence layer — database schema design, migrations, and data integrity
• Drive performance and reliability improvements across backend systems
• Work closely with product, design, and other engineers to ship seamless user experiences
• Mentor junior engineers on backend best practices and system design

Requirements:

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems
• Strong proficiency in Go
• Solid understanding of database design, data modeling, and persistence best practices
• Experience designing APIs and working closely with frontend teams
• Strong product sense and ability to translate complex requirements into clean, maintainable systems
• A collaborative mindset — you work well with product, design, and other engineers
• Experience in fintech or other high-trust domains
• Familiarity with equity management tools or legaltech systems
