POLYWOOD is a company that designs sustainable outdoor furniture, focusing on creating immersive outdoor experiences. They are seeking a 3D Visualization Artist who specializes in photoreal outdoor and architectural environments using Unreal Engine to help visualize their products in realistic settings.
Responsibilities:
- Building photoreal outdoor scenes including patios, backyards, and architectural interiors and exteriors
- Importing, staging, and lighting SolidWorks-based furniture models using Datasmith and Direct Link
- Producing stills and animated sequences using Unreal Engine and Movie Render Queue
- Creating and customizing master materials for plastics, powder-coated metals, wood, and fabrics
- Developing accurate PBR materials from physical references and real-world finishes
- Using particle systems to simulate weather and environmental effects such as rain, snow, and fog
- Integrating foliage, Nanite assets, and environmental elements to achieve realism at scale
- Partnering with Creative and Product teams to continuously raise the visual quality bar
- Optionally using Twinmotion for scene setup prior to Unreal Engine synchronization
Requirements:
- 3 or more years of experience in 3D visualization or architectural visualization
- Advanced expertise in Unreal Engine, including Lumen, Nanite, Path Tracer, MRQ, and lighting workflows
- Experience importing CAD assets using STEP files and Datasmith pipelines
- Deep understanding of foliage systems and asset optimization
- Strong knowledge of physically based rendering and material creation
- Comfort working in a Twinmotion and Unreal hybrid workflow
- A refined sense of lighting, color, scale, and composition
- Experience creating animated camera movement and dynamic environmental conditions
- Experience with SpeedTree, World Creator, Houdini, or Cinema 4D
- Background in architecture or design
- Familiarity with Python or Blueprint scripting
